Job summary

COWI is seeking an experienced Mechanical Lead with a data centre background to guide the mechanical design from early planning through detailed design and implementation across Scandinavia. The role balances reliability, performance and sustainability, and collaborates with architects, engineers and clients.

Based in Norway or with offices across the region, the role offers hybrid work arrangements and the chance to shape cooling, HVAC and energy‑efficient infrastructure for hyperscale

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering data centre projects, ideally within hyperscale, colocation or enterprise environments.
• Experience leading technical design work within multidisciplinary project environments.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Experience working with large-scale infrastructure or industrial facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and advisory services for data centre facilities.
• Act as the discipline lead, ensuring technical quality and coordination throughout projects.
• Lead the design and development of mechanical systems for hyperscale and enterprise data centers.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into practical engineering solutions.
• Support projects through concept development, detailed design, tendering and construction phases.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated and efficient technical solutions.
