We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Lead at COWI to guide the mechanical design for next-generation data centre facilities across Scandinavia. Based in Norway, you will drive cooling and HVAC solutions while balancing performance, reliability and sustainability throughout concept to construction phases.
You will lead a multidisciplinary team, collaborate with architects and clients, and contribute to shaping the data centre capability across the region.
Data centres play a vital role in society, and the decisions made today will shape the digital and sustainable infrastructure of tomorrow. At COWI, we are strengthening our capabilities to support clients in delivering the next generation of digital infrastructure. We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Lead with a background from data centre projects to help strengthen and expand our growing data centre business across Scandinavia.
Data centres are a strategic growth area at COWI, and we are continuing to strengthen our multidisciplinary capabilities across Scandinavia. By combining expertise in engineering, architecture, sustainability and project delivery, we support clients throughout the development of complex digital infrastructure projects and help shape the next generation of reliable and energy-efficient facilities.
In this role, you will take a leading position within the mechanical discipline, contributing your expertise to complex projects from early planning through detailed design and implementation.
As Mechanical Lead, you will play a key role in developing cooling and HVAC solutions for mission‑critical facilities, balancing performance, reliability and sustainability requirements. Working closely with colleagues across engineering disciplines, architects and clients, you will help ensure technically robust and coordinated solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
You will join an established engineering environment where technical quality, collaboration and knowledge sharing are highly valued. At the same time, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the continued development of our data centre expertise and project delivery capabilities across Scandinavia.
The first step to success in this role is that you are eager to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, partners or customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.
Some projects may be subject to specific security requirements, and the ability to obtain relevant security clearance may be required.
The role can be based in any of our offices across Norway. This includes offices in: Bergen, Bodø, Drammen, Fredrikstad, Hamar, Haugesund, Kristiansand, Oslo, Stavanger, Tromsø and Trondheim. We work in international and multidisciplinary teams, and many of our projects are delivered across offices and borders.
