Job summary

Bulk is hiring a Mechanical Engineer to support our data center portfolio with focus on cooling, HVAC, and reliable mechanical infrastructure. You will collaborate with Site Operations, Engineering, Projects, and Commissioning teams to drive performance and energy efficiency.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, 5+ years in data center cooling, and hands-on experience with Chillers, CRAH/CRAC, AHUs, and liquid cooling; strong communication and documentation skills are

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years' experience with mechanical or cooling systems, ideally from data centers.
• In-depth understanding of cooling architectures such as Chillers, CRAH/CRAC, AHUs, and economization; interest in liquid cooling is a plus.
• Experience with commissioning, performance testing, and reliability engineering practices.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well with cross functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and lead engineering site inspections, audits, and health checks to ensure systems meet design intent and risk requirements.
• Develop and maintain mechanical engineering standards, maintenance strategies, operating procedures and risk controls for data centers.
• Directly support operational issues with ad-hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews, including critical equipment, and event support.
• Support capacity reviews and technical assessments for customer deployments, including high density and liquid cooled workloads.
• Contribute to engineering reviews and provide input on new builds and site modifications.
• Help maintain asset documentation, maintenance plans, and lifecycle records.
• Assist site operations during mechanical incidents, supporting investigations and root cause analysis.
• Monitor system performance and reliability using telemetry (BMS/EMS/CMMS) and flag anomalies.
• Contribute to energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives, including PUE, WUE, and heat reuse.
