Job summary

ABB AS in Norway seeks a System & Technical Support Engineer for marine MV power applications. You will support ABB systems onboard vessels worldwide, act as lead or project engineer for modernization and retrofit projects, and perform sporadic field service tasks globally.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting via ABB’s Remote Diagnostic System (RDS), providing technical advisory both externally and within ABB, and collaborating with R&D on future solutions.

Qualifications

• BSc or Technical College education required.
• Experience with drive systems in the marine sector is preferred.
• Fluent in English and Norwegian (spoken and written).
• Willingness to travel internationally; knowledge of shipboard systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advisory and support for ABB Marine systems.
• Troubleshoot using ABB’s Remote Diagnostic System (RDS).
• Lead or participate as project engineer in modernization and retrofit projects.
• Assist customers via phone, email, remote access, and on-site visits; support internal ABB Marine teams.
• Collaborate with R&D on future solutions; perform sporadic field service tasks globally.
