Job summary

Mercor is seeking a native Korean annotator to work on Korean-language documents. You will identify and bound every meaningful region such as titles, headings, paragraphs, tables, and figures, assigning proper types and reading order, while transcribing text exactly as it appears in Hangul.

Proofreading and strict attention to detail are essential. You will review colleagues' work and ensure consistency across hundreds of pages, including handling multi-column layouts and handwritten forms.

Qualifications

• Native Korean speaker with full command of Hangul, including hanja when applicable.
• Experience in bilingual transcription, translation, editorial work, or AI training data is preferred.
• Candidate must be exact and systematic; character-level accuracy matters.

Responsibilities

• Open and verify Korean content to ensure legibility and absence of personal data.
• Annotate structure by bounding regions (title, headings, paragraphs, tables, figures) and assign types and reading order.
• Record relationships between regions and parent figures/tables and transcribe text faithfully in Hangul.
• Capture page metadata: language, document type, source, dimensions, and flags for tables, formulas and handwriting.
• Undergo second-expert review to ensure quality before submission.
