Highly specialized and educated technologist who performs clinical analysis, microscopic examination, serological tests, microbiological determinations, specialized blood banking procedures, hematological procedures, and other forms of testing on patient specimens for the purpose of diagnosing and following abnormal or diseased states. Medical technologists may be required to work alone and make independent decisions. Follows policies and procedures to ensure overall departmental operations in accordance with the facility’s mission and philosophy. Participates and maintains quality assurance activities to assure highest standards of care.

Education: Associate Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent.
Experience: Must be registered as a medical technologist in accordance with the standards of the Department of Human Resources of Georgia.
