Job summary

NODES is seeking an IT Security & Support Lead to own and improve our internal IT and end-user support, ensuring secure, cost-efficient tools and services. The role blends hands-on support, workplace technology, vendor management, cloud operations, and documentation.

Qualifications

• University degree
• 3-7 years of energy sector experience, preferably in a utility, energy or commodity trading environment, consultancy, network operator, regulatory body or tech start‑up firm
• Solid understanding of electricity market design, distribution and transmission networks, energy trading or commodities trading, software development

• Manage internal IT, workplace technology, onboarding/offboarding, equipment, licenses, subscriptions and office connectivity.
• Provide hands‑on end-user support and coordinate relevant IT suppliers, service providers and group functions.
• Support Azure, cloud cost control, monitoring, runbooks, operational documentation and platform support for Trading Platform and GridTools.
• Improve identity and access management, security monitoring, incident follow-up, ISO 27001 routines and practical compliance controls.
• Identify opportunities for automation, simplification and scalable internal processes across Finance/HR, Operations, Compliance and Technology.

Job Description

The IT Security & Support Lead will own and improve NODES’ internal IT and support environment, ensuring employees have reliable, secure and cost-efficient tools and services. The role combines hands‑on end-user support, workplace technology, vendor and license management, cloud and platform operations, technical documentation, and practical security and compliance support.

A key priority is to strengthen NODES’ internal capabilities, support ISO 27001-aligned ways of working, and reduce dependency on Å Energi systems where appropriate so the company can scale securely, efficiently and independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage internal IT, workplace technology, onboarding/offboarding, equipment, licenses, subscriptions and office connectivity.
• Provide hands‑on end-user support and coordinate relevant IT suppliers, service providers and group functions.
• Support Azure, cloud cost control, monitoring, alerting, runbooks, operational documentation and platform support for Trading Platform and GridTools.
• Improve identity and access management, security monitoring, incident follow-up, ISO 27001 routines and practical compliance controls.
• Identify opportunities for automation, simplification and scalable internal processes across Finance/HR, Operations, Compliance and Technology.

Requirements

We are looking for a pragmatic, service-minded and technically hands‑on profile with experience from IT operations, support, cloud, infrastructure or security. The right candidate understands Microsoft 365, Azure or similar platforms, identity and access management, documentation, operational processes and security principles. Experience with ISO 27001, GDPR, audit work or development is an advantage.

• 3-7 years of energy sector experience, preferably gained in a utility, energy or commodity trading environment, consultancy, network operator, regulatory body or tech start‑up firm
• Solid understanding of as many of the following areas as possible: electricity market design; the changing role of electricity distribution and transmission networks; energy trading (or commodities/securities trading); software development
• Exceptional organisational and skills
• Ability to work on your own initiative and drive processes forward
• Interpersonal skills
• Fluency in a Scandinavian language and English.
• Structured, proactive and comfortable taking ownership across a broad area.
• Collaborative and service-minded, with strong communication skills in English.
• Security-conscious, quality-oriented and practical in risk management.
• Curious, independent and motivated by building scalable internal capabilities in a growing international company.

Reporting and success measures

The role will work closely with Finance/HR, Operations, Compliance and Technology and coordinate with external IT service providers. Success will be measured by clear ownership of IT assets, reliable and secure employee support, effective vendor and license control, improved documentation and monitoring, practical support for ISO 27001 and related compliance requirements, and successful decoupling from Å Energi systems where appropriate.
