Job summary

VARD Interiors AS is seeking an experienced Department Manager Interior to lead the Interior department within our shipbuilding projects in Ålesund, Norway. You will oversee Production Coordinators and Supervisors, drive productivity, and ensure alignment with quality, safety, and delivery goals across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Relevant technical education or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum 10 years of experience within interior shipbuilding.
• Leadership experience and strong people management skills.
• Strong operational, planning, and resource management capabilities.
• Good understanding of HSE, quality, and project execution.
• Technical understanding of interior installation and production processes.
• Good communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support Production Coordinators and Supervisors across projects.
• Drive operational performance, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor project progress, resource utilization, quality, and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and promote a strong safety culture.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, and installation teams to secure successful project execution.
• Resolve operational challenges and support the delivery of projects according to quality, schedule, and budget objectives.
• Contribute to planning, performance reporting, and development of the Interior department
