Job summary

Emerson in Porsgrunn is seeking a Project Engineer to drive technical execution from FEED through delivery. You will interpret customer instrumentation requirements, develop solutions, prepare proposals, and coordinate with customers, sales, and project teams to ensure compliant, high-quality instrumentation projects.

Key responsibilities include leading engineering deliverables, reviewing specifications and P&IDs, optimizing scope and profitability, and ensuring adherence to Emerson standards

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification.
• Experience in process automation, instrumentation, control systems, or related industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation technologies and the ability to interpret P&IDs, customer specifications, and engineering documentation.
• Experience working directly with customers and delivering solutions within project-based environments.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with a commitment to safety, ethics, and quality.
• English proficiency; Norwegian is desired as well.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical execution of assigned projects from concept to delivery, owning engineering deliverables and decisions.
• Collaborate with customers, sales, project managers, and internal teams to develop compliant, high-quality instrumentation solutions.
• Prepare and support technical proposals, including instrument selection, sizing, and engineering documentation.
• Identify opportunities to optimize project scope, profitability, and customer value.
• Ensure activities align with Emerson trade compliance, quality and project management standards.
• Apply project management methodologies and attend customer/plant meetings as required.
• Support the Project Manager and execution team in managing contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participate in internal project meetings to ensure customer requirements are communicated and understood by all partners.
