Job summary

Energy As seeks a Senior Instrument Engineer for Bergen or Stavanger to lead instrument discipline work on multi-discipline modification projects. You will guide design development, vendor interactions, and documentation, ensuring alignment with client specifications and Equinor’s standards.

Offshore experience is highly valued and Norwegian language is preferred though not mandatory. The role demands at least eight years in instrument engineering, independent execution, and ability to oversee

Qualifications

• 8+ years of engineering experience in modification projects.
• Experience as discipline lead within the instrument discipline.
• Offshore experience and knowledge of instrument systems.
• Familiar with Equinor's requirements and working methodologies.
• Valid EX and FSE certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead discipline-specific deliveries in bids, studies and execution projects.
• Estimate and plan the scope of work within the instrument discipline.
• Develop design documents and technical solutions for field instrumentation.
• Prepare and deliver documentation meeting customer specifications and metadata.
• Set up job specifications and prepare installation work documents.
• Specify and procure materials and manage instrumentation purchases.
• Collaborate with other disciplines and maintain client communication.

Language: Norwegian is preferred, but not mandatory.

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant fields.

Competence and Experience:

• At least 8 years of relevant engineering experience in modification projects, preferably with Equinor as a client.
• Experience as a discipline lead within the instrument discipline.
• Proven ability to work independently on multi-discipline modification projects, with responsibility for detailed engineering of instrument systems.
• Offshore experience, including surveys, is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Equinor’s requirements, specifications, and working methodologies.
• Broad knowledge and experience in the field (understanding of design and engineering of instrumentation and associated control systems) is highly desirable.

Tasks:

• Lead discipline-specific deliveries in bids, studies, and execution projects.
• Estimate and plan the scope of work within the discipline.
• Develop design documents and technical solutions for field instrumentation.
• Prepare and deliver technical documentation in line with customer requirements and specifications, and update customer databases with relevant metadata.
• Set up job specifications and prepare work documents for installation.
• Specify and procure necessary materials, bulk items, and packages.
• Serve as the package manager for instrumentation purchases and provide technical follow-up with equipment suppliers.
• Collaborate with other disciplines within the project and maintain communication with the client.
