Job summary

Odfjell Technology is seeking a Senior Innovation and Development Engineer to lead product development from concept to implementation. The role involves working with a multinational team across Norway, the UK, and the UAE, with international travel expected.

You will join a growing engineering environment and contribute to the modernisation of Well Services technology, while mentoring less experienced engineers and collaborating with product line managers to deliver innovative solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years product design experience.
• Experience in oil and gas industry preferred.
• Experience with product assembly, testing, validation.
• FMEA, CFD, and FEA knowledge desirable.
• Strong CAD experience is mandatory.
• Experience delivering projects from concept through manufacture and implementation.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and design requirements.

Responsibilities

• Leading and managing technical development projects from concept through manufacturing and implementation.
• Planning and leading prototype assembly, testing, and validation activities.
• Conducting development studies, simulations, and technical analyses.
• Maintaining and overseeing technical documentation throughout project lifecycles.

About The Role

In this role, you will lead product development projects from initial concept through design, testing, manufacturing, and implementation. Working closely with operational teams and Product Line Managers, you will develop innovative and customized solutions that contribute directly to our technological advancement and future growth.

Key Responsibilities

Your Responsibilities Will Include

Qualifications And Experience

We are looking for candidates with:

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of product design experience, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer working with product development.
• Strong experience with CAD software is mandatory.
• Experience delivering projects from concept through manufacture and implementation.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and design requirements.
• Experience with product assembly, testing, and validation activities.
• Previous operational experience within relevant industries is an advantage.
• Experience with FMEA, CFD, and FEA methodologies is desirable.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a creative mindset.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• A positive attitude and willingness to mentor and develop less experienced engineers.
