Ribbit in Canada is seeking a Senior Flight Controls Engineer to lead development of control laws for autonomous fixed-wing aircraft. You will own aircraft modelling, perform tuning, and contribute to safety-critical software in production C++.

The role is hybrid, requiring on-site field testing in the Greater Toronto Area and collaboration with flight-test teams. Ideal candidates have hands-on flight control experience, strong MATLAB/Simulink/Python skills, and a solid foundation in flight

Qualifikationen

• University degree in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
• Hands-on experience designing control laws for real aircraft and flight tests.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and Python; C++ for real-time systems.
• Strong flight dynamics understanding and modeling experience.

Aufgaben

• Lead development of flight control for autonomous fixed-wing aircraft.
• Own the aircraft modelling behind the control system, including trim and operating-point models.
• Write production C++ and review changes.
• Represent control in design reviews with navigation, state estimation, hardware, and flight-test teams; mentor engineers.
• Plan and fly test campaigns with flight-test teams; tune control laws during and after flights.
