Shield AI is seeking a Flight Integration Engineer to bridge R&D and deployment for unmanned aircraft systems. You will integrate autonomy software across compute, sensors, and control interfaces, and prepare flight-ready configurations.

The role requires hands-on testing, strong systems thinking, and collaboration with autonomy, GNC, and test teams. You will travel 30-40% and contribute to certification and compliance efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in CS/EE/Aerospace or related field.
• 7+ years of systems integration and flight-test experience.
• Proficient in C++, Python, RTOS, and Linux-based development.

Responsibilities

• Integrate autonomy software onto unmanned aircraft systems.
• Own build, configuration, and validation for flight-ready systems.
• Support live flight operations at test sites with safety checks.
• Debug hardware/software across autonomy stacks and embedded systems.
• Capture flight data and analyze results with engineers.
• Collaborate with autonomy, GNC, systems, and test teams.
• Develop tools to improve integration timelines and reliability.
• Assist with documentation needed for certification and airworthiness.
• Travel 30-40% of the year to offices and sites.
