Job summary

Norrøna Adventure AS is opening a flagship lodge at Andørja in Northern Norway and seeks a Hotel Experience Manager to lead daily operations, guest hosting, and team leadership in Arctic conditions. Responsibilities

• Lead daily front-of-house hospitality, housekeeping, F&B, and facility maintenance for 30–35 guests.
• Oversee micro-group activity execution and guide coordination.
• Build an inclusive, warm host culture and share local Arctic lore with guests.
• Forge local partnerships with landowners, suppliers, municipal partners, and emergency services.
• Recruit, schedule, and coach lodge personnel while managing budgets and costs.

We are now opening our brand-new lodge at Andørja in Northern Norway—an island legendary for its dramatic peaks, deep fjords, and alpine terrain. We are seeking an exceptional Hotel Manager / Lodge Experience Manager to build a vibrant community, manage daily lodge operations in complex Arctic conditions, and deliver world-class micro-group adventure experiences.

About the position

As the Hotel Experience Manager, you will be responsible for the daily on-site operational management, guest hostship, team leadership, guide coordination, and local community integration. Accommodating up to 30–35 guests, our lodge connects high-end hospitality directly with guided active micro-groups (max 6 people per group)—covering hiking, ski touring, trail running, mountain scrambling, mountain biking, and arctic winter scouting under the Northern Lights.

You will be the heart of the lodge experience: setting operational standards from A to Z, ensuring uncompromising alpine safety, building an inspiring host culture, and sharing local Arctic history and mountain lore with an international clientele.

Main areas of responsibility

• Operational & Lodge Management: Lead daily front-of-house hospitality, housekeeping, F&B services, and facility maintenance for up to 30–35 guests. Ensure full compliance with food safety, liquor licensing, legal permits, and local HSE regulations.
• Adventure & Guide Integration: Act as the operational bridge between lodge staff, expert guides, and guests. Oversee micro-group activity execution (max 6 guests/group), private guide requests, and daily weather/avalanche safety protocols in complex Arctic terrain.
• Hostship, Storytelling & Community Building: Embody the Norrøna brand spirit as an authentic host and storyteller. Build an inclusive, warm atmosphere for global adventurers while leading a staff that provides intuitive, seamless hostship.
• Local Anchoring in Northern Norway: Build and nurture strong, lasting relationships with local landowners, suppliers, municipal partners, emergency services, and activity partners across Andørja and the region.
• Team Leadership & Financial Efficiency: Recruit, schedule, and coach lodge personnel while managing local budgets, purchasing, and cost efficiency.

We believe you’ll succeed in this role if you have

• Operational & Logistics Experience: Strong experience in hotel/lodge management, hotel logistics, operational routines, and team leadership in dynamic or remote environments.
• Passionate Outdoor & Activity Experience: A deep personal connection to adventure sports (skiing, hiking, biking, climbing), proven experience in activity-centered operations like guiding, and working alongside mountain/adventure guides.
• Northern Norway Foothold: Strong familiarisation, experience, or local network in Northern Norway and an understanding of Arctic weather, terrain, and coastal mountain culture.
• Master Storyteller & Host: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to captivate guests with local lore while cultivating a warm, respectful team culture where staff and guests blend naturally.
• Safety & Execution Mindset: High awareness of HSE, risk management, and alpine safety standards combined with a hands‑on "get your hands dirty" attitude.

Qualifications
