Job summary

Brekkestranda in Western Norway is reopening in spring 2027, and we are looking for a Hotel Manager to join before opening and lead the guest experience from day one.

You will oversee daily hotel operations, coordinate front-of-house and back-of-house teams, and work hands-on across the property to craft boutique luxury hospitality for our guests.

Qualifications

• Experience from boutique or luxury hospitality.
• Strong, hands-on leadership and team motivation.
• Organised, reliable and passionate about genuine hospitality.
• English required; other Nordic languages are an advantage.

HOTEL MANAGER

Brekkestranda · Sognefjorden, Western Norway

More than fifty years ago, a woman named Ingeborg Brekke created something truly unique here. But before she built a hotel, she was a cook. For her, hospitality began in the kitchen with food, with welcoming people, and with making guests feel at home. That spirit became the foundation of Brekkestranda and it never left. Together with architect Bjørn Simonnæs, she created something remarkable. He designed the buildings according to what he called a nest-building philosophy - the idea that a structure shouldn't sit on top of a landscape; it should grow from it. Very few places in the world have history, architecture and landscape all telling the exact same story.

In spring 2027, Brekkestranda will reopen its doors - and we're now looking for someone who wants to be part of the journey from the very beginning.

Brekkestranda is being carefully restored for a new generation of guests. As Hotel Manager, you'll join us before opening and become a core part of the team bringing this sleeping icon back to life.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the daily hotel operation and front-of-house team.
• Welcome guests and ensure an exceptional experience throughout their stay.
• Coordinate housekeeping, restaurant, kitchen and other operational teams.
• Arrange guest transportation and activities when required.
• Work hands-on across the hotel, including the restaurant and bar.
• Report directly to the Managing Director, with regular reporting to the Board.

WHO YOU ARE

• You have experience from boutique or luxury hospitality.
• You are a confident, hands-on leader who can motivate and support a multidisciplinary team.
• You are organised, reliable and passionate about genuine hospitality.
• Strong wine knowledge or sommelier or barista certification is an advantage.
• English is required; Norwegian, Swedish or Danish is an advantage.

THE POSITION

• Full-time position.
• Start no later than 1 March 2027 for pre-opening planning, recruitment and staff training.
• On-site from 1 April 2027.
• From 2028, the regular working season is 1 February-30 November.
