Job summary

Fjellheisen in Tromsø is looking for a Café Manager to lead the new Panorama cafe. You will ensure excellent guest care, smooth daily operations, and a well-prepared service area with strong collaboration with the Restaurant Manager.

You will shape practical routines, oversee stock and shifts, and foster a warm, host-like atmosphere for guests from around the world. English fluency is required; Norwegian is a plus.

Fjellheisen is Northern Norway's largest tourist attraction and one of Tromsø's most iconic landmarks. In April 2027 we open a spectacular new 3,000 m² building - almost seven times the size of today's - with a stunning restaurant, cocktail bar, café, and four large event spaces for meetings, parties and banquets, plus open communal areas with a view that takes your breath away.

About the role

As Café Manager, you take on a hands‑on, operational role at the new Fjellheisen Panorama, where great service and guest care always come first. Your job is to make sure everything is set up for guests to have the best possible experience.

The planning work starts now, and your job will be to help shape simple, practical routines that keep the café running smoothly. You report to the Restaurant Manager.

Your responsibilities

• Making sure guests always meet friendly, attentive service and are well looked after
• Facilitating smooth service - having the café well prepared, stocked and ready before opening
• Ordering and stock management
• Shift scheduling and day‑to‑day follow‑up of your team members
• Tidying and resetting the café after service, so it is always guest‑ready
• Close collaboration with the Restaurant Manager

We are looking for someone who

• Is genuinely passionate about service and guest care
• Has a high working capacity - it can be hectic at times
• Is practical and hands‑on - happy to prepare for service and tidy up afterward
• Thrives in a host role and creates a warm atmosphere for guests
• Has some experience from café, restaurant or F&B operations
• Relevant education will be valued
• Is structured and self‑driven, comfortable with the full range of practical, day‑to‑day tasks
• Is fluent in English; Norwegian or other languages are a plus
