Qualifications

Do you want to make a difference for others? Lerkendal bo- og aktivitetstilbud is seeking a professionally engaged healthcare worker who enjoys night work.

We are now seeking a healthcare worker for a permanent 28 percent weekend position currently at night with a work weekend every third weekend.

The position is currently linked to a residential community located in Sjetnmarka. We provide services to a complex and varied user group, and you must be prepared to handle demanding but exciting tasks. Here you will become part of a professional environment focused on relationship work and prevention where we together handle unpredictable situations and support each other in the work.

Lerkendal bo- og aktivitetstilbud is one of four BoA units in Trondheim that offers assistance in the home, activity offers and respite services for people with varying degrees of developmental disabilities or functional impairments. The unit is organized into 16 different service locations with interdisciplinary staff groups. Central professional groups include social educators (vernepleier), nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, healthcare workers and assistants.

We work so that those who receive services from us get the help they need to experience good quality of life and live their lives as independently as possible. The professional framework we work according to is positive behaviour support.

Responsibilities

As part of our team you will have an active role in direct service provision, where one follows decisions, action plans and established procedures. We place great emphasis on security and professional quality, and you will be an important contributor in the daily work with care, nursing and somatic health assistance.
Your central tasks include professional follow-up, where you in accordance with applicable legislation and quality requirements shall perform your work tasks. Medication management and close follow-up of measures related to epilepsy and somatic health assistance.

In collaboration with your colleagues, you will work systematically with prevention and handling of challenging behaviour, where your ability for ethical reflection and relationship building is crucial for the service recipients.

You shall work systematically and preventively with regard to the use of force and coercion, and follow up measures in accordance with the Health and Care Services Act chapter 9. Ensure proper documentation in Helseplattformen and contribute actively to developing a good and inclusive working environment together with your colleagues.

Qualifications

• trade certificate (fagbrev) and authorization as a healthcare worker
• Valid police certificate
• You can express yourself clearly and understandably in contact with service recipients, relatives, partners and colleagues. You must be able to interact with users and relatives, retell and report in writing in Norwegian so that you perform your duties in a responsible manner.
• Good professional skills and experience with targeted environmental work
• Desirable experience working with people who have a developmental disability, autism and challenging behaviour

You are a team player who also enjoys independent work, and you contribute actively to a good and inclusive working environment with humour and generosity.
Flexible and adaptable: As a person you are solution-oriented, willing to change and flexible in meeting the varying assistance needs of service recipients. You remain calm in complex situations, manage periods of high work tempo, and handle both physically and mentally demanding tasks.
