Shield AI is seeking a senior autonomy software leader to drive end-to-end development of mission autonomy software for unmanned platforms. You will architect, develop, test, and evolve autonomous behaviors across air, land, sea, and space domains with minimal human supervision.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• Proficient in production-level C++ software development
• 7+ years' experience in software sub-system scheduling and integration, behavior planning, motion planning, optimization, or flight controls
• Experience with version control, issue tracking, code reviews, and release management
• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams, set technical direction, and manage full project lifecycles
• Capacity to mentor junior engineers and build team cohesion
• Willingness to travel up to 20%
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

Responsibilities

• Develop tactical autonomy software for unmanned platforms across domains with minimal human supervision
• Implement and test multi-agent coordination, targeting, reconnaissance, and survivability behaviors
• Cover full software lifecycle from requirements capture to verification and validation
• Champion product-line mindset for tech road-mapping and reuse across projects
• Architect scalable software subsystems interfacing with sensors, state estimation, comms, actuation, and payloads
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vehicle integration teams
• Act as SME for software, representing software in multi-stakeholder contexts
• Travel to co-locate with end-users or teams up to 20%
