An established, BAFE-certified fire safety consultancy is looking for an experienced Fire Risk Assessor to become the first appointment within their new South East team.
This is an opportunity for a Fire Risk Assessor who wants more than simply completing assessments. Working directly with the company directors, the successful Fire Risk Assessor will help establish the South East operation and have a genuine opportunity to progress into leadership as the team expands.
The Fire Risk Assessor will undertake assessments across residential and commercial properties, initially covering London and Brighton. As the team grows, travel areas are expected to reduce and become more local.
Typical responsibilities include:
Completing approximately two FRAs per day, with additional time allocated for larger or more complex premises
Managing project portfolios alongside the lead validator
Supporting validation, mentoring and development of future assessors
Working directly with directors to establish standards for the South East team
Contributing ideas towards bespoke FRA software, action tracking and data analytics
All scheduling and administration is handled centrally, while a competence-based system ensures assessors are allocated appropriate work.
The successful Fire Risk Assessor will ideally have:
2+ years’ fire risk assessment experience across residential and/or commercial properties
A recognised Fire Risk Assessment qualification/course
Sound technical knowledge of fire risk assessment
Level 4 FRA qualifications and knowledge of Approved Document B / BS 9999 advantageous
NFRAR or IFSM registration advantageous – membership can be funded
Full UK driving licence
Ambition to develop technically and potentially progress into leadership
The Fire Risk Assessor will receive:
£50,000 – £55,000 salary
