Job summary

Telia Company in Norway is seeking a Financial Controller – Revenue to join our Finance team. You will help ensure accurate revenue reporting and robust internal controls while collaborating across business units and audits.

The role emphasizes IFRS 15 compliance and proactive process improvements. You will work with a skilled team, contributing to month-end close and revenue data quality, and act as a trusted partner to commercial divisions.

Qualifications

• Higher education in finance or related field.
• Minimum of four years of relevant experience.
• Experience with IFRS and with accounting and tax-related matters.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Norwegian and English.
• Experience with basic SQL or other coding languages is an advantage.
• Highly proficient Excel user.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with IFRS standards, focusing on IFRS 15.
• Improve processes and internal controls related to revenue and balance sheet items.
• Provide input to, and QA of, monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
• Support follow-up activities related to audits.
• Act as a sparring partner for Telia Norway’s commercial divisions and business controlling on accounting matters.
• Perform controls of revenue data loads during month-end closing, with basic SQL queries (training provided).
• Follow up, analyze, and ensure quality of revenue-related balance sheet items.
• Document internal controls related to responsibilities above.
• Assess and document accounting treatment of new revenue streams.

We’re looking for a Financial Controller – Revenue to join us at Telia in Norway! I’m Espen Alexander Høybakk Mikalsen, Accounting Manager Products and Services. The Finance team is looking for a new Financial Controller to join our Revenue team in Norway. We offer a varied and engaging work environment, great colleagues, and a strong professional community. We are looking for a proactive individual who wants to contribute to simplification and improvement initiatives, work with accounting assessments, and support process mapping and development. The role is part of an engaged and highly skilled Financial Control team consisting of ten talented colleagues. In addition to working closely within the team, we collaborate extensively across the organization and participate in a variety of cross-functional projects. This provides a unique opportunity to build a strong network, collaborate with knowledgeable colleagues, and gain insight into different areas of the business.

Financial Control in Telia Norway is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial information for the company. The Revenue team primarily supports the commercial divisions with revenue reporting and accounting assessments.

What you’ll do:

• Ensure compliance with relevant IFRS standards, with a particular focus on IFRS 15
• Contribute to improving processes and internal controls related to revenue and balance sheet items
• Provide input to, and perform quality assurance of, monthly and quarterly financial reporting
• Support follow-up activities related to external and internal audits
• Act as a trusted sparring partner for Telia Norway’s commercial divisions and business controlling on accounting-related matters
• Perform controls of revenue data loads as part of the month-end closing process, including running basic SQL queries on complex datasets (training will be provided!)
• Follow up, analyze, and ensure the quality of revenue-related balance sheet items
• Perform and document selected internal controls related to the responsibilities above
• Assess and document the accounting treatment of new revenue streams.
