Job summary

Odfjell Drilling Ltd. invites a senior Finance Manager to lead accounting quality, reporting, and compliance across the group. You will partner with VP Finance & Business Management to strengthen internal controls, governance, and external reporting for international operations.

You will oversee statutory and tax matters, drive process improvements, and manage audit interfaces while maintaining a hands-on, strategic approach in a dynamic oil and gas environment. Hybrid work in Bergen is offered.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • 5–8 years of relevant accounting, audit, or finance experience (Big Four preferred).
  • Strong technical expertise in IFRS and local GAAP; internal controls and compliance frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Tax and VAT regulations.
  • Experience in international environments and group reporting.
  • Ownership mindset with strategic and hands-on capabilities.
  • High integrity, attention to detail, and solution-oriented approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee quality and integrity of financial accounting and reporting across entities.
  • Manage period-end and year-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations, assets, leases, and capital projects accounting.
  • Ensure IFRS/local GAAP alignment and governance across the group.
  • Support statutory, tax, and VAT reporting for international operations.
  • Govern outsourcing of accounting services and liaise with GBS and corporate finance.
  • Act as primary finance contact for auditors and external advisors.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance to controllers and finance teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, systems, and controls.

Odfjell Drilling is an international drilling company founded in 1973. We are seeking a Finance Manager to join Odfjell Drilling in a senior, hands-on finance leadership role. The position is responsible for ensuring the quality, integrity, and compliance of financial reporting, accounting processes, and internal controls across the Odfjell Drilling Group, including relevant entities related to Odfjell-managed rigs.

The Finance Manager will work closely with the VP Finance & Business Management and the VP Financial Control & Compliance Officer, supporting the coordination, governance, and monitoring of accounting and compliance activities across the Group.

The role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with IFRS, local GAAP requirements, tax regulations, and internal governance standards.

As a central member of the finance leadership team, the successful candidate will contribute directly to the continued development of financial processes, internal controls, reporting quality, and compliance frameworks. The role combines technical accounting expertise with strong leadership capabilities and a continuous improvement mindset.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting Quality & Reporting Oversight
  • Coordinate and monitor the quality and integrity of financial accounting and reporting across all entities
  • Oversee periodic balance sheet reconciliations and review of all fixed assets, leases, and capital projects accounting
  • Ensure alignment with IFRS, corporate policies, and local GAAP requirements
  • Oversee period-end and year-end processes across all relevant legal entities
  • Monitor and improve balance sheet quality, reconciliations, and accounting controls
Compliance & Regulatory Responsibility
  • Contribute to Statutory, Tax & VAT reporting across international operations
  • Support VP Finance and Finance Leadership Team on accounting and financial compliance matters
  • Contribute to strengthen internal control frameworks and documentation
GBS Interface & Service Governance
  • Serve as key interface between business control, corporate finance, and GBS
  • Ensure effective governance of outsourced accounting services
Audit & External Stakeholder Management
  • Act as primary finance contact for auditors on accounting matters
  • Coordinate with corporate tax specialists and external advisors
Business Support & Value Creation
  • Support VP Finance and Finance Leadership Team on accounting and compliance matters
  • Provide technical accounting guidance to controllers and finance colleagues
  • Maintain and support key accounting processes
  • Support maintenance and improvement of the internal control framework
  • Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, systems, and controls
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Minimum 5–8 years’ relevant experience in accounting, audit, or finance (Big Four or equivalent preferred)
  • Strong technical expertise in:
