Job summary

Howden Group is hiring an Assistant Hospitality Manager to support the Head of Hospitality across internal and executive floors. You will help maintain high service standards and a professional guest experience, working with the Hospitality Coordinator and assistants to deliver exceptional service.

Responsibilities include leading the hospitality team, deputising for the Head of Hospitality when needed, coordinating staff schedules, and supporting recruitment, onboarding and ongoing staff

Qualifications

• 3 years minimum experience as an assistant manager or supervisor within a corporate hospitality, hotel, restaurant or fine dining environment.
• Proven experience managing a busy and demanding team, with confident and supportive leadership.
• Strong food and beverage service knowledge, especially fine dining and high-profile events.
• Experience coordinating shifts and maintaining service coverage in a busy operation.
• Excellent customer service skills and professional approach when supporting executives and VIP guests.
• Clear communication and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage priority conflicts.
• Highly organised, proactive and attentive to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head of Hospitality with day-to-day operation of the Hospitality department.
• Provide visible operational leadership during service and as first point of contact for the hospitality team.
• Deputise for the Head of Hospitality during absences.
• Ensure services are delivered in line with SOPs and service levels.
• Oversee refreshments, breakfasts, lunches, and events to timings and presentation standards.
• Assist with staff rotas, recruitment, onboarding and training activities.
• Manage team briefings and performance conversations to improve productivity.
• Coordinate with Reservations, Kitchen, Reception and Logistics for events.
