Engineering Manager – Subsea Desalination Systems
Want to Help Solve One of the World's Greatest Challenges?

Access to clean water is essential for people, communities, and industries, yet water scarcity is one of the fastest-growing global challenges. At Waterise, we are developing groundbreaking technology that transforms seawater into fresh water in a more sustainable, energy-efficient, and cost-effective way. By combining Norwegian subsea expertise with innovative water treatment technology, we are helping secure access to clean water for millions of people around the world. We are now looking for talented and passionate colleagues who want to join us on this exciting journey and make a real difference

Engineering Manager - Subsea Desalination Systems

Lead our subsea package engineering teams as we build a new class of sustainable, seabed-based desalination systems. Oslo-based, from FEED to offshore installation.

About the role

Waterise is pioneering a new class of subsea desalination systems that produce fresh water offshore, at scale, with significantly reduced reliance on energy-intensive high-pressure pumping. By placing the reverse osmosis process on the seabed, the system uses natural hydrostatic pressure as part of the desalination process. The technology builds on proven subsea engineering disciplines from offshore oil and gas, but applies them in a new and purposeful way: delivering sustainable freshwater infrastructure from the seabed.

As Waterise moves into project execution, we are strengthening our CTO organisation and looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Package Responsible Engineer (PRE) teams. This is a hands-on, project-facing leadership role based in Oslo, reporting directly to the CTO. You will organise engineering delivery across packages, drive progress and interfaces, support technical decision-making, and help shape the way our engineering organisation operates as we scale from development into execution.

Responsibilities
  • Staff, schedule and run the package engineering teams
  • Own the engineering schedule, man-hour budget and deliverables register across all packages
  • Drive interface control and progress follow-up across packages and suppliers
  • Report to the CTO on execution status, resource capacity and technical risk
  • Work closely with the Principal Engineers (discipline owners) to keep package delivery aligned with technical requirements
  • Direct interface with the project execution team
