Job summary

Nscale is seeking a Director of Legal, Infrastructure, EMEA based in the UK to own end-to-end contracting for its data centre campuses across EMEA. This hands-on role negotiates with major counterparties and drives standardized commercial and legal positions from term sheet to closeout.

You will coordinate with external counsel, work with construction, procurement, finance and real estate teams, and maintain contract templates and playbooks aligned to JCT, NEC and FIDIC forms.

Qualifications

• 7+ years PQE in construction and infrastructure law (in‑house or top‑tier firm).
• Qualified solicitor or barrister in England & Wales (or another relevant EMEA jurisdiction).
• Experience negotiating large construction, EPC/EPCM, design‑and‑build and equipment supply agreements.

Responsibilities

• Lead negotiations of owner‑contractor, EPC, EPCM and design‑and‑build agreements for data centre campus construction across EMEA.
• Draft and negotiate design and consultancy agreements with architects, engineers and consultants, including frameworks and ownership of deliverables.
• Negotiate supply, installation and O&M agreements for on‑site power generation and critical equipment with performance guarantees and SLAs.
• Coordinate with regulatory and local counsel for site acquisitions, power procurement, interconnection and leases.
• Maintain and improve contract templates and playbooks (JCT, NEC, FIDIC and bespoke structures).
• Manage counterparty rounds and align house positions across projects and jurisdictions.
