Job summary

Energy As is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead and coordinate electrical design activities for large oil and gas projects in Bergen. You will ensure compliance with ATEX and IEC standards, define equipment requirements, and oversee procurement documentation.

The role requires a strong ability to collaborate across disciplines, conduct system analyses, and contribute to FEED and execution phases with clear design basis and technical specifications.

Candidates without valid work permit in Norway and NORSOK experience, will not be evaluated
Duration: 2 years
Competence and Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years in multidiscipline oil and gas projects, with responsibility for electrical design and systems, preferably in modification projects.

• Strong collaboration skills, understanding of project interaction and the complexity of modification projects.

• Experience in defining equipment requirements, preparing technical documentation, overseeing procurement, and quality-checking documentation and equipment.

• Skilled in preparing design basis, conducting site surveys, evaluating types and suppliers, assessing installation methods, and creating installation documentation.

• In-depth knowledge of relevant directives and harmonized standards, such as ATEX, and international standards relevant to electrical distribution and equipment per IEC.

• Valid Ex basic and FSE courses are required.

Typical Tasks:

• Develop design basis for estimation, planning, and procurement in FEED and execution phases.

• Communicate and present work in the FEED phase.

• Document and drawing review, scope identification in FEED.

• Update drawing basis.

• Conduct system analysis and calculations in load, short circuit, and sizing.

• Develop and update drawing basis.

• Prepare technical specifications for procurement.

• Provide technical follow-up on procurement packages.

• Cross-disciplinary collaboration during project development, identifying new scopes as projects progress.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering.

• Technical college with 9 years of relevant engineering experience.

Language Requirements:

• English is the working language, with requirements for strong written and verbal English skills.

Course Requirements:

• FSE with first aid and practical CPR.

• Ex basic or Ex basic for electrical personnel.
