Job summary

The Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) invites applications for a permanent Associate Professor position in Economics within the School of Economics and Business. The successful candidate will pursue research, teach across bachelor’s, master’s and PhD programs, supervise theses, and engage in external research collaborations.

Required: PhD in economics or related field, strong publication record, and English communication skills.

Qualifications

PhD in economics or related field.
Documented research competence and publication record within economics.
Educational competence in accordance with NMBU’s requirements for associate professors; any missing competence must be acquired within two years of appointment.
Good oral and written communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

Conduct high-quality research in economics and related fields and publish regularly in peer-reviewed journals.
Teach and develop courses in economics across bachelor’s and master’s level.
Supervise bachelor’s, master’s and PhD students, including thesis supervision in topics related to economics, markets, public policy and empirical analysis.
Contribute to the continued development of the School’s study programs and research environment in economics.
Apply for and contribute to externally funded research projects, including interdisciplinary projects relevant to NMBU’s profile.
Collaborate with public authorities, research institutions, businesses, organisations and other external stakeholders.
Contribute to administrative tasks and other shared activities at the School together with colleagues and students.
