Job summary

Omnea is seeking a Director of Engineering to join the leadership team and scale an engineering function as the company grows. You will report to the CTO and oversee a group of Engineering Managers and Team Leads, owning the outcomes, org design, and technical direction across a significant slice of the product.

You will partner with CTO and Product to define a long-term technical roadmap, balance technical debt with feature delivery, and ensure customer feedback drives priorities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• 5+ years in engineering leadership.
• 2+ years managing managers.
• Lead a group of 25–50 engineers across multiple teams.
• Experience at Series A+ B2B SaaS companies.
• Strong background in distributed systems and cloud architecture (AWS).
• Experience working with enterprise customers.

Responsibilities

• Hire, coach, and develop Engineering Managers and Team Leads; focus on their effectiveness.
• Set and enforce a high performance bar across the group, incl. leveling.
• Own org design for your area as product/company grows.
• Build the bench of future engineering leaders.
• Own headcount planning for the group from business case to hiring.
• Be accountable for outcomes of multiple teams and their delivery.
• Create operating rhythms for planning, prioritization, and reporting.
• Unblock cross-team dependencies and architectural decisions.
• Ensure robust monitoring, observability, and incident response.
• Partner with CTO and Product to define the technical roadmap.
• Make build/buy and architectural calls balancing debt and delivery.
• Ensure customer feedback drives technical priorities.
