Job summary

Oura seeks a Design Leader of Software Design to direct end‑to‑end member‑facing experiences across mobile and web. Based in Helsinki with a hybrid model, you’ll mentor a multidisciplinary team, define a strong design vision, and collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data, and Brand to elevate craft and impact.

You’ll shape systems, critique and raise the bar on design quality, and champion AI‑enabled workflows while maintaining user trust in health tech experiences.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience (10+ years) in software/product/interaction design for digital products, incl. consumer health tech.
• 3+ years of leadership managing UX teams in a product org, with clear expectations across levels.
• Portfolio showing ownership of complex, multi-surface experiences and design thinking.
• Fluency across interaction design, information architecture, visual hierarchy, motion, and systems thinking.
• Track record of improving experience quality via engagement, satisfaction or reduced friction in flows.
• Excellence in Operational Excellence and Impact in design outcomes.
• Strong collaboration and leadership with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and storytelling, with experience presenting to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Manage software design teams across multiple designers and leads, setting clear expectations and feedback.
• Mentor designers through regular 1:1s and career conversations to grow craft and confidence.
• Define and communicate a cohesive design vision for mobile and web experiences.
• Lead critiques and working sessions to raise design quality without overriding creative direction.
• Define and steward the design system to ensure coherence as product scales.
• Partner with product and engineering, offering design perspectives while defending user experience.
• Recruit, hire, and onboard designers; shape team culture and practices.
• Champion AI-enabled design workflows to improve speed, quality, and personalization.
