Job summary

Monil is seeking a Head of Software Engineering to own and scale our software across frontend, backend and data. You will set technical direction, grow the team and ensure the quality, reliability and velocity of everything we ship above the device layer, as part of the management team guiding rapid international growth.

You will work closely with Product and Hardware, turning roadmaps into practical plans, aligning device-to-cloud evolution, telemetry contracts and OTA.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading software engineering teams at scale.
• Strong depth across at least one area (frontend, backend, or data) and breadth to lead all three.
• Experience with modern backend and cloud architectures and data infrastructure behind telemetry or IoT workloads.
• Solid grasp of engineering practices: CI/CD, automated testing, observability.
• Experience collaborating with product and hardware functions to drive outcomes via influence.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture, delivery, and operational health of Monil's software platform across frontend, backend, and data.
• Lead and grow a high-performing engineering organisation: hiring, mentoring, structuring teams, setting technical and cultural standards.
• Define and drive software engineering standards, including CI/CD, testing, observability, and on-call practices.
• Build the data foundation for high-volume telemetry, ensuring models are productionised and well-integrated.
• Translate roadmaps into deliverable engineering plans in collaboration with Product and prioritise scope/timing.
• Partner with R&D on device-to-cloud boundary, telemetry contracts, device management, and OTA.
• Own delivery: balance feature velocity with architecture and operations for international scale.
• Be accountable for software quality, security, and production reliability of customer-facing systems.
