Job summary

Optimus Search is seeking experienced Data Centre Planners for long-term contract assignments across Europe. The role involves developing and maintaining integrated project programmes from design to handover, identifying critical paths, and coordinating with Project Managers, Construction Managers, and subcontractors on-site across major European locations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience planning data centre, mission-critical, or large-scale MEP construction projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6 and critical path methodology.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Power BI, BIM, or 4D planning tools.
  • Experience with Tier 1 contractors, specialist MEP contractors, or EPC organisations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and manage integrated project programmes from design through to commissioning and handover.
  • Monitor project progress, identify critical path activities, and implement programme recovery strategies where required.
  • Produce short-term and long-term look-ahead programmes, progress reports, and client updates.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Commercial Teams, and subcontractors to ensure programme milestones are achieved.
  • Support commissioning schedules, systems integration, and phased handover activities.
  • Assess programme risks, delays, and change impacts, providing practical mitigation strategies.
  • Support extension of time (EOT) assessments, programme revisions, and forensic planning where required.
  • Attend project planning meetings and provide accurate schedule analysis throughout the project lifecycle.

We're supporting a number of leading contractors, consultancies, and data centre developers in securing experienced Data Centre Planners for long-term contract assignments across Europe.

With continued investment in hyperscale campuses, AI infrastructure, and mission-critical facilities, we're looking to speak with planners who have a proven track record of delivering complex construction programmes within live or new-build data centre environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and manage integrated project programmes from design through to commissioning and handover.
  • Monitor project progress, identify critical path activities, and implement programme recovery strategies where required.
  • Produce short-term and long-term look-ahead programmes, progress reports, and client updates.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience planning data centre, mission-critical, or large-scale MEP construction projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6 and critical path methodology.
  • Strong understanding of CSA, MEP, and commissioning activities within complex construction projects.
  • Experience producing and managing detailed project programmes in live construction environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while integrating with multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Flexibility to work on-site across major European project locations.
  • Experience working for Tier 1 contractors, specialist MEP contractors, or EPC organisations.
  • Knowledge of NEC, FIDIC, or other major construction contracts.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Power BI, BIM, or 4D planning tools.
  • Previous involvement in programme recovery, claims, or delay analysis.
