Job summary
HMH is seeking a Control Systems Software Engineer to join their Kristiansand team. You will develop, diagnose, and enhance the Equipment Control System solutions for drilling operations, collaborating with control engineers and software developers to deliver reliable, high-quality software.
The role focuses on integration of PLCs with automation components, producing clear documentation and engaging with stakeholders to drive continuous improvements.
Qualifications
- Technical degree from a college or university. Relevant professional experience may compensate for formal education.
- Proven experience as Control Systems Software Engineer.
- Strong competence with Siemens PLC platforms (Simatic Classic, TIA Portal and DasyLab).
- Experience with industrial networks (Profinet, Ethernet, Profibus, Modbus).
- Fluent in English, both oral and written.
Responsibilities
- Program and develop HMH Equipment Control System solutions
- Diagnose and resolve issues in existing PLC systems to ensure optimal performance
- Ensure seamless integration of PLCs with other automation components and systems
- Deliver high-quality software designs that enhance system efficiency and reliability
- Produce clear and structured documentation for system users and stakeholders
- Collaborate with control system engineers, developers, and other stakeholders for cohesive functionality
- Participate in project meetings to review progress, challenges, and solutions
- Engage with users and stakeholders to collect feedback and support continuous improvements
