Job summary

HMH is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to design and deliver high-quality control software for their drilling systems. You’ll work on developing, improving, and delivering solutions for DCMS, ensuring robust integration of PLCs with automation components.

Fluency in English is required; Norwegian is a plus. The role involves collaboration with engineers, developers, and stakeholders to drive system efficiency and safety in demanding oil and gas environments.

Qualifications

• Technical degree from a college or university; professional experience may compensate.
• Proven experience as Control Systems Software Engineer.
• Strong competence with programming of Control Systems with Siemens PLC platforms (Simatic S7 / TIA Portal and DasyLab).
• Experience with industrial communication networks (Profinet, Ethernet, Profibus, Modbus).
• Experience with programming in Simatic S7 / TIA portal / Cimplicity.
• Fluent in English; Norwegian language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Program and develop HMH Equipment Control System solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve issues in existing PLC systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Ensure seamless integration of PLCs with other automation components and systems.
• Deliver high-quality software designs that enhance system efficiency and reliability.
• Produce clear and structured documentation for system users and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with control system engineers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive system functionality.
• Participate in project meetings to review progress, challenges, and solutions.
• Engage with users and stakeholders to collect feedback and support continuous system improvements.
