Job summary

SPERTON Norway is seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer for a long-term Maintenance & Modification project in Stavanger. You will plan, prepare, and execute commissioning activities, working with engineering disciplines, vendors, and offshore teams to ensure structured system handover.

You will develop procedures, define scope, prepare documentation, and participate in FATs while coordinating with offshore personnel to deliver safe, efficient commissioning outcomes.

Qualifications

• Skilled worker certificate (fagbrev) or Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline.
• Proven commissioning experience in electrical/instrumentation domains.
• Offshore project or operations experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with SAS (Safety and Automation Systems).
• Familiar with FAT activities and vendor follow-up.
• Experience with MIPS.
• Valid offshore certification.
• Proactive, improvement-oriented approach and strong teamwork.
• Fluent in Norwegian and English.

Responsibilities

• Define system boundaries and prepare boundary drawings.

• Prepare job cards and handover dossiers.
• Provide input to FAT procedures and participate in FAT at vendor locations.

• Support coordination between engineering, commissioning, vendors, and offshore personnel.
• Contribute to safe, structured, and efficient commissioning and system handover.

Assignment Description

Are you an experienced Commissioning Engineer with a background in electrical and instrumentation systems? Join a long-term Maintenance & Modification project in Stavanger, where you will support the planning, preparation, and execution of commissioning activities.

In this role, you will work closely with engineering disciplines, vendors, and offshore teams to define commissioning scope, prepare documentation, support FAT activities, and ensure structured and efficient system handover.

What You'll Do

Who You Are

• Skilled worker certificate (fagbrev) or Bachelor’s degree within a relevant technical discipline
• Relevant commissioning experience
• Background within electrical and/or instrumentation
• Experience from offshore projects or operations is strongly preferred
• Knowledge and experience with SAS (Safety and Automation Systems)
• Experience from the oil & gas industry, preferably Maintenance & Modification projects
• Experience with commissioning documentation, job cards, and system handover
• Familiarity with FAT activities and vendor follow-up
• Experience with MIPS
• Valid offshore certification
• Proactive and improvement-oriented approach to work
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in multidisciplinary teams
• Fluent in Norwegian and English
