Job description

Join Us in Transforming Mobility for Everyone!
We at Siemens Mobility are looking for a talented and driven Commercial Project Manager to join our team!

Siemens Mobility is undergoing rapid development and growth, where through our technology, expertise and solutions we will make it easier and more attractive to choose public transport and contribute to smarter and more efficient mobility in society. Our mission "Transform mobility for everyone" is driven by the desire to create a sustainable future by offering digital and forward-looking solutions that truly change everyday life for both our customers and all travelers.

Our contribution to society

We are working closely with some of the largest customers in railway infrastructure (Bane NOR) and public transport (Sporveien) in Norway. We are delivering a completely new digital signaling system for the railway, the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) and for the Oslo metro, Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC), among other projects.

What does your role entail?

As Commercial Project Manager, you will take ownership of all commercial and financial aspects of assigned customer projects, working in close partnership with the Project Manager to ensure successful project delivery, strong financial performance, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Lead the commercial management of projects from bid preparation through execution and project closure, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, project management standards, and financial reporting guidelines.
  • Drive project profitability by managing financial planning, forecasting, cash flow, invoicing, project accounting, guarantees, and overall commercial performance.
  • Support strategic project decision-making through financial analysis, business case evaluation, and performance reporting to management and governance bodies.
  • Review, negotiate, and manage customer, partner, and supplier contracts, including claims, change orders, and commercial terms and conditions.
  • Identify, assess, mitigate, and report commercial risks and opportunities while driving actions that protect and enhance project outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial reporting requirements, tax regulations, export control requirements, and company policies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage commercial stakeholder relationships and collaborate closely with customers, suppliers, partners, auditors, legal, compliance, procurement, finance, and project teams across multiple functions and geographies.
  • Provide commercial leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement through lessons learned and best practices.
  • Monitor project performance through financial and operational KPIs, ensuring timely escalation of issues and implementation of corrective actions when required.
  • Act as a trusted commercial partner to the Project Manager, jointly driving project success, customer satisfaction, and sustainable business results.
Who Thrives in This Role

You are a commercially driven project professional who enjoys taking ownership, solving complex business challenges, and creating value in dynamic project environments. You combine strong financial acumen with sound judgment, a proactive mindset, and the ability to build trusted relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.

You thrive when balancing commercial, contractual, and financial priorities, navigating ambiguity, and driving results in complex projects. You are resilient under pressure, highly organized yet adaptable, and comfortable making decisions that support both project success and business objectives. You bring an entrepreneurial mindset, continuously identifying opportunities for improvement and challenging the status quo when needed. Most importantly, you enjoy collaborating across functions, cultures, and geographies to achieve shared goals.

To succeed in the role, we believe you have:
  • A Master's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial project controlling, project finance, financial project management, or a similar role within complex project-driven environments.
  • Strong expertise in project finance, financial analysis, forecasting, cash flow management, and project controlling.
  • Solid understanding of project business processes and commercial project management throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Experience with contract management, claims, change orders, and commercial negotiations.
  • Knowledge of risk and opportunity management, financial reporting, accounting principles, compliance requirements, and governance processes.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems and project reporting tools. Experience with SAP Project Module, Power BI, or similar tools is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate business cases, pricing structures, and project profitability.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, enabling you to influence, collaborate, and build credibility with customers, partners, and senior leaders.
  • Leadership capabilities with experience supporting project teams and driving cross-functional collaboration.
  • Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Valid working authorization and residing in Norway or in one of the Nordics country.
What We Offer
