Job description

We are seeking a highly organised, proactive and client-focused individual to join our Energy Solutions team. The successful candidate will support clients operating across the energy and water sectors, with a particular focus on smart infrastructure, utility services and technologies that enable the transition to net zero.

The role is primarily responsible for coordinating and supporting industry meetings, stakeholder engagement and the production of high-quality documentation to support governance and decision-making. Working with clients, Chairs, committee members, industry bodies, technology providers and internal specialists, you will provide reliable facilitation, coordination and quality support across energy, water and net zero technology programmes.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong communication and relationship management skills, a keen eye for detail and a genuine interest in the modernisation of UK utilities. The role will contribute to work involving smart metering, energy and water efficiency, low-carbon solutions and other emerging technologies that support resilient, affordable and sustainable services.

Responsibilities

Client and Contract Management

  • Deliver day-to-day operational support across a portfolio of energy, water and net zero technology contracts, programmes and trade associations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with utility clients, technology providers and key stakeholders, ensuring a consistently high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Act as a point of contact for routine client enquiries, responding promptly and referring complex contract, technology or governance matters to the appropriate colleague.
  • Work collaboratively with technical, regulatory and commercial colleagues to ensure clients receive the expertise required to meet their objectives.

Meeting and Governance Support

  • Coordinate and support forum meetings, working with Chairs and committee members to ensure effective preparation, facilitation and follow‑up.
  • Deliver high-quality meeting papers, agendas, briefing notes, minutes, action logs, and governance documentation.
  • Monitor progress against actions and decisions, ensuring outcomes are effectively tracked and communicated.
  • Ensure governance processes are followed and that documentation is accurate, consistent, and professionally presented.

Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement

  • Review and quality‑assure documents, reports, and communications across contracts and projects.
  • Apply agreed quality, consistency and professional standards in own work and support colleagues in using established templates and processes.
  • Suggest practical improvements to processes, systems and client services, and support their implementation under appropriate guidance.
  • Support the development and maintenance of guidance documents, procedures, knowledge repositories, and FAQs.

Stakeholder Engagement and Market Awareness

  • Support effective working relationships with energy and water companies, regulators, government bodies, trade associations, innovators and technology providers.
  • Share relevant market information and potential client needs with senior colleagues to support service development activities.
  • Contribute research and draft content, as required, for market insight, website and promotional materials relating to energy, water and net zero innovation.
  • Represent the business professionally in stakeholder interactions and contribute to a positive client experience.
  • Knowledge Management and Collaboration
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of UK energy and water markets, utility regulation and net zero policy, with particular emphasis on metering, digitalisation, data, flexible demand and resource efficiency.
  • Track relevant technologies and market developments, including smart meters, advanced metering infrastructure, connected assets, energy storage, electric vehicle charging, heat decarbonisation, renewable energy and intelligent water networks.
  • Highlight recurring knowledge needs and contribute to the preparation of guidance or learning materials for colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Share expertise across the wider team and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.
  • Provide practical support and share knowledge with colleagues as part of day‑to‑day collaborative working.
  • Risk and Issue Support
  • Identify and record operational, governance and knowledge‑management risks or issues arising through day‑to‑day delivery.
  • Follow established controls and procedures that support service quality and customer experience.
