Job summary

North Highland is seeking a Director-level Management Consultant to drive growth in the Energy & Utilities portfolio and to work with the Portfolio leader to develop strategy, execute vision, and lead the E&U business unit in the UK’s unique consultancy landscape.

The role emphasizes building client relationships, developing solutions across Org Strategy & Design, People & Change, Strategic Program Management, and Tech Advisory, and leading teams on large, complex engagements with senior

Qualifications

  • 10+ years management consulting, advisory, professional services and/or Big 4 consulting experience.
  • Experience within Energy & Utilities is required.
  • Ability to authentically establish credibility, build consensus, and activate collaboration with clients and teammates.
  • Proven track record leading large, complex engagements with senior executives.
  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree and/or professional certifications are bonuses.

Responsibilities

  • Focus across business development, account leadership and solution delivery (change management, project management, tech delivery) in the Energy & Utilities sector.
  • Lead a team of North Highland Consultants on projects and act as a career coach.
  • Develop and nurture a professional network through associations, speaking, and writing engagements.
  • Travel to client sites primarily in London with some travel as needed.

SUMMARY

North Highland is looking to hire a Director level Management Consultant to play a leading role in growing our Energy & Utilities portfolio. Working closely with the E&U Portfolio leader, this is a unique opportunity to develop and execute a strategy and vision, and with your skills, grow and lead the E&U business unit in one of the UK’s most unique Management Consultancies.

YOU WILL:
  • Focus across business development, account leadership and solution delivery (change management, project management, tech delivery) across the Energy & Utilities sector.
  • Draw on your unique perspectives, personality, and creativity to think big about our clients’ challenges and develop creative solutions.
  • Impact North Highland’s bottom line by building and leveraging client and team relationships that drive results and fuel growth.
  • Identify and sell solutions that provide real value to clients through North Highland’s holistic approach to consulting: Org Strategy & Design, People & Change, Strategic Program Management, and Tech Advisory.
  • Lead a team of North Highland Consultants, both on projects and as a formal career coach.
  • Showcase yourself as an Energy & Utilities thought leader by developing your professional network through association memberships, speaking, and writing engagements, and community activities.
  • Work with prestigious clients primarily located in the London area with some travel required.
  • Nurture your interests with our training programme, which can be applied to development activities and growth projects.
  • Give back to your community through impactful internal projects.
IDEALLY, WE'D LIKE:
  • 10+ years management consulting, advisory, professional services and/or Big 4 consulting experience.
  • Previous experience within Energy & Utilities is required.
  • An ability to authentically establish credibility, build consensus, and activate collaboration with clients and teammates.
  • Creative ingenuity and a proven ability to find or design simple solutions to complex challenges.
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills.
  • Superior self-awareness around personal strengths and growth opportunities.

  • Experience supporting business expansion opportunities within existing accounts and creating new business opportunities.
  • Proposal development experience and a proven ability to effectively sell business solutions to clients.

  • A demonstrated track record of leading large, complex consulting engagements, including roles that involved building and fostering relationships with senior-level executives.
  • A positive track record of delivering on business requirements and identifying gaps and omissions.
  • Success in driving significant client account growth.
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.
  • A master's degree and/or professional certifications are bonuses
