Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking a Technology Specialist in Oslo to support carbon capture technology development and deployment. The role spans technology development, engineering studies and project execution, helping move concepts toward commercial implementation.

You will work across carbon capture processes, heat integration and CO₂ handling, contributing to pilot plant activities, product development and studies with academic and industrial partners.

Qualifications

• MSc, PhD or equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' industry experience, or a PhD with relevant research and industrial exposure.
• Experience in process engineering, process technology development or process design within energy, chemicals, power generation, environmental or related sectors.
• Knowledge of process simulation tools such as Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Perform conceptual evaluations and technical assessments related to carbon capture, heat integration and CO₂ handling systems.
• Develop and maintain process engineering deliverables including Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), heat and mass balances, datasheets and technical documentation.
• Ensure the quality and consistency of technical specifications, methodologies and procedures across studies, projects and product development activities.
• Support pilot plant operations, commissioning and plant start-up activities from a process technology perspective.
• Collaborate with project teams, technology partners, suppliers and customers throughout project execution.
• Contribute to research, development and innovation programmes focused on carbon capture and CO₂ conditioning technologies.
• Identify opportunities for technology improvements, innovation and potential intellectual property development.
