Job summary

Nord Pool, part of Euronext, is seeking a Business Analyst (VIE) to help shape the future of capital markets from Oslo. The role starts January 2027 for 12 months, with potential extension, reporting to the Head of Power Derivatives.

You will support business development, market analysis and project coordination across departments, while handling data-heavy reporting and client onboarding with the Nord Pool team. Fluency in English is essential, and knowledge of Nordic languages is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business, economics, finance or engineering.
  • Experience in energy industry, strategy consulting or a fast-growing business.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; PowerBI is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the development and scaling of the Power Derivatives business line through business development, market analysis and project coordination.
  • Collaborating with departments across Euronext Group to ensure alignment and contribute to cross-functional initiatives.
  • Monitoring the competitive landscape, conducting screening analysis and reporting on business performance.
  • Undertaking market analysis to identify opportunities and customer needs, including desktop research, client meetings and conference attendance.
  • Analysing business performance, identifying improvements and proposing actionable solutions.
  • Supporting onboarding for new clients with Nord Pool sales and Euronext membership.
  • Producing high-quality materials (spreadsheets, presentations) to communicate results and recommendations.
  • Contributing to strategic initiatives such as expansion into new markets or new product launches.

Are you ready to shape the future of capital markets? We are looking for a Business Analyst (VIE) to join the Power Derivatives team at Nord Pool, part of Euronext. The position will be based in Oslo and start in January 2027 for an initial period of 12 months (with the possibility of extension). You will report to the Head of Power Derivatives.

You will primarily be responsible for:

  • Supporting the development and scaling of the Power Derivatives business line through business development, market analysis and project coordination
  • Collaborating with departments across Euronext Group, including Sales, Product, Finance and Legal, to ensure alignment and contribute to cross-functional initiatives
  • Monitoring the competitive landscape, conducting screening analysis and reporting on business performance
  • Undertaking market analysis to identify opportunities and customer needs, including desktop research, client meetings and conference attendance
  • Analysing business performance, identifying improvements and proposing actionable solutions
  • Supporting the onboarding process for new clients in collaboration with the Nord Pool sales team and Euronext membership department
  • Producing high-quality materials (spreadsheets, presentations) to communicate results and recommendations
  • Contributing to strategic initiatives such as expansion into new markets or the launch of new products

Your profile:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in business, economics, finance or engineering
  • At least one successful internship or work experience in the energy industry, strategy consulting or a fast-growing business
  • Experience analysing data, creating reports and presentations, and working with large data sets
  • Fluent in English; French or a Nordic language is a plus
  • Strong interest in energy economics, power markets and the energy sector
  • Experience in project management
  • Excellent planning, organisational, problem-solving, time management and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; PowerBI is a plus
  • Fast learner with a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable working autonomously
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities
