Job summary

Euronext is seeking an experienced IT Tech Lead to join the Digital Transformation & User Experience team in Oslo or Porto. You will drive frontend strategy, lead Front End development teams, and own BFF/API design, while collaborating with Principal Engineers to ensure high coding standards.

You will guide technical direction, oversee build and deployment pipelines, and mentor engineers across multiple locations. Travel to other Euronext sites may be required.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced IT Tech lead to be inserted into a Digital Transformation & User Experience team at VPS (Euronext Securities Oslo). The role is based in Oslo or in Porto, with opportunities for travel to other Euronext locations. You will be responsible for technical lead Front End development teams, working closely with Principal Engineers to ensure high coding standards and technical alignment. The position involves strategic planning, UX design and UI development. We are seeking someone with strong leadership skills, solid technical expertise, and a passion for solving complex challenges. You will play a key role in fostering a collaborative and forward-thinking development environment.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead technical direction and architecture for the Backoffice GUI platform.
• Define frontend strategy: coding standards, shared libraries, design systems, and information architecture.
• Own backend-for-frontend (BFF) and API design for your applications — defining clear, consistent REST API contracts between frontend and backend systems.
• Collaborate with backend/API teams to align on data contracts, service boundaries, and integration approaches.
• Own the build, release, and deployment pipelines for your applications — driving reliable, fast, and safe delivery from commit to production.
• Set quality gates for the pipeline (automated testing, code review, security scanning) so issues are caught before release.
• Collaborate internationally with development teams and with Business POs, Architecture, Functional Analysts, IT Project Management, UX, and the ENX Digital Transformation team.
• Lead strategy for the "External User" and "Back Office" portfolios versus IAM-controlled applications.
• Own application security — secure-by-design practices, and act as main point of contact for security issues and audits.
• Own how teams use AI in development — select tools, set usage guidelines, train teams, and track impact on quality and speed.
• Take responsibility for Oslo-based legacy applications (Node.js, React, Angular): stability, incident response, and pragmatic modernization — including bringing legacy release processes up to modern standards.
• Support and mentor engineers across teams, unblocking delivery and raising engineering standards.
• Balance new platform development with ongoing legacy system upkeep.

Technical Requirements

• Senior-level software engineering experience, including technical leadership of development teams.
• Strong hands‑on expertise in React and Node.js, including designing and building REST APIs / backend-for-frontend services.
• Experience maintaining or modernizing legacy front‑end applications.
• Solid understanding of API design principles (REST, contract‑first design, versioning) and integrating front‑end applications with backend services.
• Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern release practices (automated builds, testing, deployments).
• Experience with containerization and deployment tooling (e.g., Docker, orchestration platforms).
• Solid grasp of application security fundamentals (secure‑by‑design, threat awareness, secure API practices, dependency/supply‑chain risk).
• Hands‑on experience with AI coding tools/assistants and judgment on when and how to apply them.
• Experience defining front‑end standards, design systems, or shared component libraries.
• Familiarity with information architecture and structuring content/navigation for usability.
• Understanding of IAM concepts and how they interact with application architecture (nice to have).
• Experience with monitoring/observability tooling for production systems (nice to have).
• Experience in regulated or financial environments (nice to have).
