Job summary

Prosmar Risk AS in Lysaker, near Oslo, is seeking a commercially minded, tech-savvy professional to join our small, high-impact team at the crossroads of finance, technology and shipping.

You will work hands-on with clients to onboard them, develop dashboards with Power BI and Python, support financial risk analysis and enhance data infrastructure.

Ideal candidates have a degree in finance, strong English and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for international clients.

• Collaborate with product and development teams to identify commercial opportunities and design ideas for new features and improvements.
• Work with data infrastructure, ensuring efficient data modelling and linking complex datasets across multiple tables to support analytics and reporting needs.

What you'll do:

Work hands-on with clients to identify their needs, guide them through successful onboarding and usage of our solutions, and maintain strong relationships through consistent, high-quality service and communication.

Develop and maintain dashboards and automated reports that help shipping clients monitor their performance, risk exposure, and key business metrics.

Support analysis and reporting on financial risk strategies for our clients, including the use of derivatives to manage exposure to market volatility in fuel prices and freight rates using tools like Power BI and Python.

Collaborate with product and development teams to proactively identify commercial opportunities and design ideas for new features and improvements, helping shape the evolution of our software based on external/internal needs and client feedback.

Work with our data infrastructure, ensuring efficient data modelling and understanding how to link and structure complex datasets across multiple tables to support analytics and reporting needs.

What we're looking for:

Strong financial skills, with a solid understanding of risk management, derivatives, hedging strategies, and their application in the shipping or commodities markets.

Proficiency in analytical and reporting tools, including Power BI, Excel, and Python, with the ability to transform complex data into clear, actionable insights for clients.

Experience in data modelling and working with database structures, with the ability to design, navigate, and optimize relational data systems to support business intelligence and reporting.

Someone who takes ownership and knows how to turn ideas into successful outcomes. Comfortable in managing projects from the initial concept and scoping phase, through implementation and delivery, all the way to a satisfied customer. You enjoy bringing structure to complex challenges, and keeping projects moving forward.

Proactive, driven, and ambitious mindset, with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to take initiative, suggest improvements, and contribute to the growth of both product and business.

Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial and technical concepts clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
