Investment Analyst for shipping investment manager
We are growing our operations and are looking for an analytically strong Investment Analyst to work closely with management across the full investment lifecycle. The role combines traditional investment analysis relating to concrete investment opportunities, coupled with broader assessment of market dynamics, business drivers, and strategic opportunities.
This position is well suited for a candidate who wants to work closely with capital allocation and investment decisions in an active investment environment within the shipping and offshore markets, where there is a short path from decision-making to execution.
Responsibilities:
- build and maintain financial models for shipping investments (cash flow, sensitivity analysis, valuation)
- assist in screening and evaluating investment opportunities
- prepare investment memos and IC materials
- develop presentations for investors and the board
- support due diligence on vessels, counterparties, and charter contracts
- track market developments in shipping and offshore (rates, fleet data, sector trends)
- further develop investment processes, management reporting, and decision-making frameworks
- contribute to ongoing portfolio monitoring, reporting, and portfolio oversight
- support fundraising and investor relations processes
- some travel within Europe to be expected
Qualifications:
- relevant Masters degree in finance, economics, or a related field with good academic results
- 1-3 years of relevant experience from shipping project-, corporate finance, or investment banking
- advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, with strong PowerPoint experience building clear and well structured presentations and investment memos/presentations
- strong and concise communication skills in both written and verbal English and Norwegian
