Job summary

BMS Performance Ltd. is seeking a Chartered BMS Commissioning Engineer to lead commissioning across multiple live London-based projects.

You will ensure systems are fully operational, integrated and handed over to the required standard, working with Project Managers, subcontractors and clients on-site. Ideal candidates will have strong experience with Trend and Tridium, a proactive attitude, and a clear, professional customer-facing approach.

Qualifications

• Experience commissioning Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Strong experience with Trend and Tridium systems.
• Able to work independently across multiple project sites.
• Confident fault finding, control-panel testing and system integration.
• Experience collaborating with subcontractors, Project Managers and clients.
• Excellent communication and professional, customer-facing approach.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Based in London or within a practical commuting distance.

Responsibilities

• Commission BMS controls systems across new-build, refurbishment and upgrade projects.
• Configure, test and optimise Trend and Tridium-based systems to meet project specs.
• Plan commissioning activity with Project Managers to meet programme dates.
• Coordinate on-site subcontractors and other trades for smooth delivery.
• Carry out functional testing, fault finding and diagnostics to resolve issues.
• Verify integration of BMS with mechanical, electrical and third-party systems.
• Maintain commissioning records, test docs and handover information.
• Provide progress updates and technical support to clients and project stakeholders.
• Act as on-site technical contact during commissioning and ensure a professional customer experience.

About the Company:

Our client is an ambitious and expanding Building Management Systems provider, delivering BMS projects across a wide range of complex environments. Having secured significant new work, they are looking to bring an experienced Commissioning Engineer into the permanent team.

Projects include hospitals, residential developments, rail infrastructure, commercial offices and hotels. Most work is based in Central London, with occasional sites across the wider South East.

Role Overview: BMS Commissioning Engineer

As a BMS Commissioning Engineer, you will take ownership of commissioning activity across multiple project installations, ensuring systems are fully operational, integrated and handed over to the required standard.

You will work closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, clients and other site stakeholders, acting as the technical point of contact throughout the commissioning phase. This is a client-facing role for an engineer who is confident troubleshooting, managing their own workload and delivering high-quality results on live sites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Commission BMS controls systems across a range of new-build, refurbishment and upgrade projects
• Configure, test and optimise Trend and Tridium-based systems to meet project specifications
• Plan commissioning activity alongside Project Managers, ensuring work is completed to agreed programme dates
• Coordinate on-site subcontractors and other technical trades to support a smooth project delivery
• Carry out functional testing, fault finding and system diagnostics to resolve technical issues
• Verify the integration of BMS controls with associated mechanical, electrical and third-party systems
• Maintain accurate commissioning records, test documentation and handover information
• Provide clear progress updates and technical support to clients, consultants and project stakeholders
• Act as the on-site technical contact during commissioning, ensuring a professional customer experience

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience commissioning Building Management Systems
• Strong experience with Trend and Tridium systems
• Comfortable working independently across multiple project sites
• Confident with fault finding, control-panel testing and system integration
• Experience working alongside subcontractors, Project Managers and clients
• Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-facing approach
• Full UK driving licence
• Based in London or within a practical commuting distance

Package:

• Salary: £55,000 to £65,000 depending on experience
