Job summary

University of Oslo invites applications for a four-year postdoctoral research fellow in epigenetics and obesity at the CORA centre. The successful candidate will conduct high-end bioinformatics analyses of multiomics data, collaborate with clinicians and biologists, and contribute to our understanding of weight regain mechanisms.

Part of the time will be allocated to career-enhancing tasks. Applicants should have a Norwegian doctoral degree or equivalent in bioinformatics or computational

Qualifications

• A Norwegian doctoral degree in bioinformatics or computational biology, or equivalent; if not yet conferred, dissertation must be submitted by application date.
• Experience in extensive data analyses in epigenetics and obesity research.
• Hands-on experience with multiple omics data analyses (ChIP-seq, CUT&RUN/CUT&Tag, ATAC-seq, RNA-seq, DNA methylation) and NGS data formats (FASTQ/BAM/VCF).
• Excellent written and oral English communication.
• First-author publications in well-recognized journals.

Responsibilities

• Carry out high-quality scientific research.
• Publish results in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals.
• Apply for research funding.
• Disseminate research at national and international meetings and conferences.
• Co-mentoring of PhD and mentoring of master students.
