Shield AI seeks a Manager, Autonomy Applications Engineering to lead a team of Forward Deployed Engineers supporting customer deployments and success with the Hivemind SDK. The role involves on-site and field work, customer-facing leadership, and collaboration with product and engineering teams to improve deployment readiness.

You will coach engineers, translate customer goals into technical milestones, and ensure ongoing customer success across real-world environments, with up to 30% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of relevant technical experience in software engineering or related roles.
• 2+ years of people management or formal technical leadership experience.
• Experience in a customer-facing technical leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, mentor, and develop Forward Deployed Engineers for deployments and customer success.
• Own planning, staffing, and execution for on-site and virtual engagements.
• Provide technical leadership for onboarding, deployment, and operational success with Hivemind SDK.
• Serve as escalation point for customers using Hivemind in real-world environments.
• Translate customer goals into technical milestones and execution plans.
• Drive accountability for achieving customer outcomes during active engagements.
• Guide debugging and resolution of complex software and integration issues.
• Remove blockers and improve time-to-value with internal teams.
• Collect and communicate recurring customer pain points and field insights.
• Represent customer voice in internal planning and prioritization.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to improve quality and deployment readiness.
