Job summary

IKM Consultants AS seeks an experienced offshore automation specialist to develop SAS documentation, create installation work packages, and approve technical drawings for offshore projects in Stavanger. You will coordinate with clients and vendors to identify optimal technical solutions.

The role requires 7–12 years in SAS on modification projects, strong IEC/ISO/NORSOK knowledge, and Basic Ex and FSE certifications. This is a two-year assignment based in Stavanger, Norway.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation or Cybernetics.
• 7–12 years of SAS experience on modification projects offshore.
• Experience across Concept/Detail Studies and EPCIC project phases.
• Strong knowledge of offshore process, electrical, telecom, BPCS, SIS systems.
• Familiarity with SAS/IACS/OT solutions from major suppliers (Emerson, Siemens, ABB, Kongsberg).
• Knowledge of IEC 61850, 61508/61511, 62443, ISO 11064, ATEX, and NORSOK.
• Ability to work independently and in multicultural teams.
• Required certifications: Basic Ex and FSE (Electrical safety).
• English language proficiency.
• Location: Stavanger, Norway; Schedule: Full-time; Duration: 2-year assignment.

• Produce and revise technical documentation and drawings (Cause & Effect, SCDs, loop drawings).
• Develop documentation for Safety and Automation Systems (SAS).
• Create work packages for installation and deliverables for FEL studies.
• Perform discipline checks and approve produced documents and drawings.
• Order automation materials for offshore installation, interpreting P&IDs and discipline drawings.
• Collaborate with client and vendor representatives to find optimal technical solutions.

Job description

• -Produce and revise technical documentation and drawings, including Cause & Effect, System Control Diagrams (SCDs), and loop drawings.


• -Develop documentation for Safety and Automation Systems (SAS).


• -Create work packages for installation and deliverables for studies and Front End Loading (FEL) work.


• -Perform discipline checks and approve produced documents and drawings.


• -Order all automation materials required for offshore installation, interpreting P&IDs and other discipline drawings.


• -Collaborate with client and vendor representatives to find optimal technical solutions.

Required expertise

• -Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation or Cybernetics.


• -7-12 years of experience with SAS systems in modification projects on operational offshore installations.


• -Experience with all project phases, including Concept/Detail Studies and EPCIC.


• -Strong knowledge of offshore systems (process, electrical, telecom, BPCS, SIS).


• -Familiarity with SAS/IACS/OT technical solutions from major suppliers (e.g., Emerson, Siemens, ABB, Kongsberg).


• -Knowledge of relevant standards such as IEC (61850, 61508/61511, 62443), ISO 11064, ATEX, and NORSOK.
