Job summary

NTNU Gjøvik invites applications for an Associate Professor in Software Engineering for Intelligent Interactive Systems. The appointee will advance research and education in intelligent systems that perceive, reason, and interact with humans, leading the Educational Technology Laboratory's social robotics strand and strengthening AI-enabled application development.

The successful candidate will teach across undergraduate, graduate, and PhD levels, supervise students, and engage in international

Qualifications

PhD in computer science or related field.
Proven research track record in software engineering for intelligent interactive systems.
Strong programming skills and experience.
Excellent teaching ability across bachelor and master programmes.
Willing to learn Norwegian or Scandinavian language within three years.

Responsibilities

Lead research and education in software engineering with focus on intelligent interactive systems.
Secure competitive research funding (ERC, FRIPRO).
Shape strategic direction of intelligent interactive systems and AI integration.
Deliver high-quality teaching at all levels and supervise students.
Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration and external funding applications.
Communicate research through outreach and dissemination.
Participate in department management with the Head of Department.
