Job summary

NTNU Gjøvik invites applications for an Associate Professor in Software Engineering for Intelligent Interactive Systems. The role focuses on research and education in building intelligent systems that perceive, reason, and interact with humans in trustworthy, social ways.

The successful candidate leads the Educational Technology Laboratory's social robotics strand, strengthens collaborations, and contributes to AI-enabled software engineering education across bachelor, master and PhD programmes.

Qualifications

• PhD in computer science or a related field.
• The candidate must document relevant teaching/supervision experience at university level.
• New employees must demonstrate Norwegian or another Scandinavian language within three years.

Responsibilities

• Lead research and research-based education in software engineering with a focus on intelligent interactive systems.
• Advance the lab's social robotics research strand and strengthen international collaborations.
• Contribute to the department's educational profile and learning environment.
• Deliver high-quality teaching at bachelor, master and PhD levels in software engineering, full-stack development, and programming.
• Supervise and mentor students and postdoctoral researchers.
• Engage in external funding applications (e.g., ERC, FRIPRO).
• Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration and dissemination activities.
• Participate in management of research and education activities with the Head of Department.
