Job summary

The Department of Geosciences at UiT The Arctic University of Norway invites applications for a three-year fixed-term Associate Professor position focused on snow science. The appointee will strengthen the Snow Science and Geohazards group, lead field-based research, and supervise MSc/PhD students.

Qualifications

PhD in geosciences or closely related field with publication record in snow science/geohazards.
Experience with fieldwork in snowy terrain and external funding is desired.
Ability to communicate in English; Norwegian language proficiency expected within three years.

Responsibilities

Conduct high-quality snow science and geohazards research.
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses and supervise MSc/PhD students.
Build external networks and secure funding; participate in field campaigns.
