UiT The Arctic University of Norway invites applications for an Associate Professor in Freshwater Biology and Ecological Interactions, attached to the Freshwater Ecology Group. The role focuses on freshwater biology, biotic interactions, and ecological responses to environmental changes at high latitudes.

Qualifications

• PhD in aquatic ecology or equivalent level with strong theory and methods in population and community ecology.
• Evidence of freshwater ecosystem research, fish ecology, and field/experimental studies on ecological interactions and global change biology.
• Experience with environmental management and strong quantitative background.
• Meta-ecosystem perspective including coastal-freshwater flows and anadromous fish is valued.
• Ability to obtain external funding and a broad international scientific network.
• Pedagogical competence documentation is required or obtainable.
• English and Norwegian/Scandinavian language proficiency at CEFR B2 or higher; Scandinavian skills to be developed within three years.
• Outstanding publication record in leading international journals.
