Job summary

Humber River Health in North America’s Greater Toronto Area seeks a dedicated Anesthesia Assistant to join the Surgical Program on a permanent full-time basis. You will provide technical support and clinical assistance across induction, maintenance and recovery phases of anesthesia as part of a multidisciplinary team in the OR.

The role requires CRTO or CNO registration, current RRT or RN, BCLS and ACLS, and 1–2 years OR experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a recognized Anesthesia Assistant Program.
• Registered with CRTO or CNO in good standing.
• Undergraduate degree in a health-related field; Masters preferred.
• Current certification for RRT or RN.
• Current BCLS and ACLS.
• Knowledge of anesthesia assistant practice.
• 1–2 years OR experience as Anesthesia Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and clinical assistance with induction, maintenance and recovery phases of anesthesia.
• Work under supervision of the Anesthesiologist as part of the surgical team.
• Assist in developing and implementing the anesthesia care plan.
• Monitor patient responses during induction and intraoperative phases.
• Ensure safe patient care with continuous improvement and best practices.
